Chinese regulators approved orders for 60 Airbus planes that had been held up by a dispute with the EU over taxing carbon emissions, Bloomberg reported. The two sides signed an agreement that will allow the US$8 billion in orders to be delivered during an official state visit of France’s President Francois Hollande, according to a statement by Airbus. The France-based company previously stated it had firm orders for planes but would be unable to begin building them as China was withholding regulatory approval. The EU backed off on its carbon tax late last year.
