China By Numbers: New hospitals, rich households and a high PMI

Some China-related numbers that you may have missed:

2k – The number of new county hospitals to be built in China under Beijing’s new health care spending plan

4m – The number of households with annual incomes of over RMB250,000 (US$36,580) that China is expected to have by 2015, according to McKinsey & Co.

52.4 – The level of the Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) in March, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing. This is the first time the PMI has been above 50 since July 2008

61.8% – Percentage of Shanghai residents surveyed who thought pets urinating and defecating in public destroyed the city’s image
