China eases travel rules to Taiwan

The Mainland has streamlined exit and entry rules for Taiwan residents as part of a campaign to advance economic ties with the island, granting Taiwan's residents multiple entry and exit permits that are valid for up to five years, effective July 25, state media reported, citing the Public Security Ministry.  Taiwan residents will also no longer be required to obtain separate residence permits.
