China and the European Union announced that they will hold discussions regarding compensating China's potential losses incurred by the EU's enlargement. The EU expanded by 10 countries on May 1. Chinese economic researchers said the improved investment environment in Europe is likely to draw Western European investment that may otherwise have been invested in China.
