China's ruling Communist Party on Tuesday concluded its plenary session of the 354-member Central Committee, a four-day closed-door meeting that produced a roadmap for the world's seventh-biggest economy calling for a sustainable model to better address the social grievances arising from widening income disparities and environmental degradation, Reuters reported. The meeting was the party chief Hu Jintao's first plenum without his influential predecessor Jiang Zemin holding some form of office, allowing Hu to further consolidate his power.
