China pays US$48bn in export tax rebates

China paid more than US$48bn in tax rebates to exporters in 2004, the foreign trade minister said, adding the incentive has contributed to China's growing foreign trade. China's total foreign trade volume is third in the world, reaching US$1.15trn last year. It is expected to grow 15% this year, with imports and exports basically balanced.
