China Southern Airlines announced fuel surcharge increases of up to 37% on international flights Monday, the second such move in the last two months, the South China Morning Post reported. Mainland carriers raised fuel surcharges 33% on June 1 in response to rising oil prices. Stocks of China’s three major airlines, which also include China Eastern and Air China, rose the 10% one-day limit in Shanghai on Monday, and traded higher in Hong Kong as well, as investors expect the other domestic carriers to raise surcharges as well.
