Lenovo may be hurt by US economy, quake

Analysts said Chinese PC maker Lenovo’s domestic sales growth and international shipments of computers may suffer due to the effects of the Sichuan earthquake and the sagging US economy, the South China Morning Post reported. The Daiwa Institute of Research revised its full-year earnings projections for Lenovo downward by 4%, and lowered its expectations for global shipment growth from 18% to 14% for this year. Opinions differed on the overall impact of the earthquake, with some analysts describing it as merely a "temporary setback" for spending. Lenovo’s fiscal first-quarter earnings have not yet been announced.
