Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair agreed in London to discuss hold annual bilateral summits to strengthen governmental and economic ties between the two countries. The two leaders released a joint statement declaring the relationship between the two countries to be at the top of their respective countries' international priorities. Blair said Wen's visit had generated US$1 billion in contracts between the two countries.
