China's 3G users reach 16 million

China’s 3G users increased to 16.06 million in February, according to data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, reported state media. China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network reported 6.86 million users in February; China Telecom reported 5.14 million users of its CDMA200 service; and China Unicom’s W-CDMA subscriber base expanded to 4.06 million. No data was given as to the breakdown of 3G users between handsets and data card subscribers.
