China’s native wine industry has developed into two big name leaders – COFCO and Changyu. COFCO has claimed that it has merged with a well-known Chilean winery. Hongjiang Zhou, the GM of Changyu, says the company will start constructing three big wineries in Shihezi (Xinjiang province), Helanshan (Ningxia province) and Xianyang (Shaanxi province). These should be completed within three years, with 400,000 tons in annual yield.
Changyu has already set up a wine producing base in Langfang in Hebei province.
Chinese Wines Information reports that cities like Qinhuangdao and Zhangjiakou in Hebei province are famous as wine producing centers in China.
