The head of China Mobile’s Guangdong province operations, Xu Long, was detained along with his wife on Friday by provincial authorities for alleged wrongdoings, South China Morning Post reported, citing a China News Services story on Monday. “Xu’s detention was ordered by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection … a sign that his case is quite severe,” another newspaper, China Business News, quoted a source close to the Communist Party’s graft watchdog saying. Gao Zhixing, a deputy general manager of subsidiary Guangdong Mobile, was presiding over the company’s operations.
