Daewoo Motor Co of South Korea announced that its joint venture in Guilin, Guangxi autonomous region, is due to start production of heavy trucks later this year. The rate of production will start at 1,000 units a year and expand to 10,000 units. The joint venture, with Guilin Auto Industry Group, was established eight years ago and currently produces around 2,500 buses a year.
