Just days after tickets had become available, about 4,000 Chinese football fans signed up to watch the national team play in this summer’s World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea. Two companies, a mainland subsidiary of the red chip China Travel International Investment and China International Sport Tours, have won the rights to sell 10,500 tickets for the finals.
The managing director of China Travel International, Shen Zhuying, said the organisers would try to obtain more tickets because of strong demand in China.
