Fisker CEO resigns while Chinese firms bid for company

The chairman and founder of electric vehicle maker Fisker Automotive will resign, departing at a critical time when the firm is considering buyout offers from rival Chinese firms, Reuters reported. Whether Henrik Fisker’s departure will affect the bids from Geely Automobile Holdings (0175.HKG) and Dongfeng Motor Group (0489.HKG) is unclear. Fisker’s exit was a surprise and in his emailed resignation he cited “several major disagreements that Henrik Fisker has with the Fisker Automotive executive management on the business strategy.” The company last produced a car in July and has been looking for financial support to build its planned second model.
