Four workers at state China firm perish in Vietnam riots

In a stock filing on Tuesday, state-controlled Metallurgical Corporation of China (HKG.1618, SHA.601618) said four of its workers had been killed and 23 seriously hurt in anti-Chinese riots that flared last week in Vietnam after China moved an oil rig into disputed waters in the South China Sea, The Wall Street Journal reported. At a daily news briefing Tuesday, China Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said four ferries had picked up 3,553 Chinese workers on Monday. Some 3,000 others in Vietnam had already returned to China, and another 307 injured Chinese were also brought back, Hong said.
