Lenovo, the maker of personal-computers which started with IBM, is
exploring the possibility of building a factory in western China to
expand production capacity and reduce costs according to Hong
Kong-based Wen Wei Po. We will be seeing a lot more of this as
salaries in the more popular areas find themselves facing a sharply
increase wages bill while at the same time, China massively improves
its rail connections.

Separately, Chairman Liu Chuanzhi said it aims to develop smartphone
applications in-house to try to win market share from Apple.
