Search firm Google is investigating its employees in China as part of a "normal course" of investigating an online attack, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. It is unknown whether the company has evidence linking its employees with an attack against its systems that led to the theft of software code, or with separate attacks aimed at the Gmail accounts of human rights activists. Some Google employees in China have reportedly had their network access cut off during the investigation. The attacks in part led to Google’s decision to stop censoring search results in China.
