The world-famous architect I M Pei has been persuaded to come out of retirement to design a new museum in his hometown of Suzhou, South China Morning Post said. The new museum will be built close to Suzhou’s Folklore Museum.
The 82-year-old Pei left China after World War II and set up an architectural firm in New York. His works include the glass pyramid in the Louvre, Paris, the Fragrant Hills Hotel in Beijing and the Bank of China building in Hong Kong.
