Officials in the ancestral home of President Jiang Zemin hope to turn the village into a tourist attraction, according to South China Morning Post. Jiangwan in Jiangxi province is being presented as ‘the native land of a great man’ and a billboard bearing Jiang’s calligraphy has been erected on the main road leading to the village. Some Yn1.5m has been spent on renovating the ancestral temple of the Jiang clan.
Family ties with the village were cut several decades ago when Jiang’s grandfather moved to Yangzhou in Jiangsu province.
