China’s courts dealt with 350 cases of organised crime last year, 6.3 times the number in 2000, the Financial Times said. The figures were included in the annual report to the National People’s Congress by Xiao Yang, president of the Supreme People’s Court, which also detailed a sharp rise in violent crimes and an increased use of guns and explosives. There were 1,319 corruption cases involving more than Yn1m last year.
