KMT chief's emotional mainland arrival

Kuomintang (KMT) Chairman and Taiwan Opposition Leader Lien Chan landed in Nanjing to a red-carpet welcoming ceremony attended by Chen Yunlin, director of the Taiwan Work Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). The last time the 69-year-old Lien set foot in the mainland was when he was 10. "Today I really have a feeling from deep in my heart that our meeting should have happened earlier," state media quoted him as saying.
