Legend Holdings, China’s largest personal computer maker, is to buy a 51 per cent stake in Han International Consulting, a subsidiary of Asia Logistics Technologies, and will take a 4.8 per cent in the parent company, Reuters reported. Legend will also administer a cash injection to its own consultancy subsidiary, Digital China, which was spun off for a separate listing last year. In the new set-up, Digital China will concentrate on smaller firms while Han will target larger ones.
Legend’s president, Yang Yuanqing, said that Han had increased its revenue by about 200 per cent a year since it was founded in 1997. The group expects IT services to account for at least 15 per cent of total revenue within five years. At present more than 90 per cent comes from sales of its PCs, which are the top-selling domestic brand.
