Oracle Corp, one of the largest enterprise software companies in the world, has set up a new development centre aimed at the Chinese market. The new centre, based in Shenzhen High-Tech Industrial Park, is expected to start operations this month and to employ around 100 staff by the end of the year.
In addition to developing internet-based products specifically for Chinese customers, the centre will support expansion of China’s mobile network by developing a mobile commerce infrastructure and establishing laboratory facilities for testing mobile applications. Oracle’s local manager said that the centre would provide a base for future expansion in China.
