PC manufacturer Lenovo plans to make mobile phones the "second pillar" of its business, state media reported. Company Vice President Chen Shaopeng said that handset sales revenues were already double last year as third quarter sales reached 1.4 million units, a rise of 139% on the same period in 2004. Second quarter figures showed that Lenovo was the biggest local producer of mobile phones in China, and fifth largest including foreign brands, Chen said.
