China's first domestic-made liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier is being constructed at a Shanghai dry dock, and is expect to be completed in November 2007, state media said. It will carry liquefied natural gas from Australia to a US$846m LNG terminal under construction in the southern Guangdong province from which undersea pipelines will transport the gas to other regions. The ship builder, Hudong Zhonghua Ship-building Group, now has orders for three other LNG vessels, with a possible fourth to come.
