Local governments agree to pay up after construction firm sues

Yan Jiehe, founder of China Pacific Construction Group, said four of the six local governments his firm had sued for late payments on infrastructure construction contracts had agreed to pay the money owed, though he added the firm would continue to pursue lawsuits in Hunan and Shandong totaling RMB200 million (US$32 million), Bloomberg reported. “We’ll carry these cases to the Supreme Court if needed,” Yan said. “The impact of filing the lawsuits came instantly and our account receivables have been dropping every single day.”
