Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Beijing Monday as part of a three-day visit to China, AFP reported. His visit will focus on energy cooperation, including the formal launch of a pipeline to carry Russian oil to China. Medvedev is also expected to discuss with Chinese leaders a pricing mechanism for gas deliveries from Russia’s Gazprom (OGZD.LSE, GAZ.FWB), which China and Russia have yet to agree on, as well as other opportunities for Chinese investment to help modernize Russia’s economy. Medvedev’s trip will end on Tuesday with a visit to the World Expo in Shanghai.
