Oil to fuel half of China's needs by 2010

Oil will account for more than half of China's energy consumption by 2010, when net imports will rise to between 180m tons and 200m tons of oil a year, a Chinese official said. Gao Shixian, director of energy economics and development strategy at the National Development and Reform Commission, told a conference in London that that energy diversification is a priority for China.
