China's petrochemical industry experienced record production and sales in 2004, state media reported, citing the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. Citing strong demand, the industry reported output rose 32.5% from 2003 to US$297.2bn, while profit totaled US$33.7bn, up 59% from 2003.
