South Korean FDI up 40%

South Korea's foreign direct investment in China reached US$6.25 billion in 2004, up nearly 40% from 2003, overtaking Japan as the third largest investor in China, according to China's Ministry of Commerce. Last year, China approved more than 30,000 South Korean projects totaling US$49bn. Trade between the two countries rose 43% to about US$90bn last year.
