Producer prices rise

Producer prices in May were up 5.7% compared with May 2003, the National Bureau of Statistics reported. The bureau attributed the rise to increases in raw material and energy costs. The Ministry of Commerce also reported that foreign direct investment rose 11% to US$25.9 billion in the first five months, up from 10% in the first four months.
