In doing this they are being monitored in real-time using Impeva Labs’ Global Sentinel Services.After being transported via truck and feeder vessel from Hunan, the containers were loaded on a transpacific vessel in Shanghai late last month to sail to the port of Long Beach in California.
From there, the containers will be transported to Houston Ramp via Burlington Northern Railroad, for delivery by truck to Texas Fireworks in Silsbee, TX. (Perhaps not a town that has heretofore swum into your ken.)
Each container has a Global Sentinel Unit which senses the door state (although theft would, perhaps, be unlikely), internal light and, probably most important, temperature and movement.
Should any predefined parameters be exceeded an encrypted alert is automatically transmitted to appropriate personnel, including local law enforcement agencies, within two minutes.
Eye for Transport reports that China Customs and the US Custom & Border Protection (CBP), Consumer Protection Safety Commission (CPSC) or any other government agency can have full access to the tracking data starting from the loading point in China.
