Rockwell wins metro contract

Shenzhen Metro has awarded a Yn10.5bn contract to Rockwell Automation and Beijing Hollysys to install an environmental control and monitoring system during construction of the 22km first phase of the Shenzhen subway line, reported South China Morning Post. The US-based Rockwell Automation has supplied automation control systems for commuter railways in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. This autumn it plans to spend US$2m-3m on building an application development centre in Shenzhen that will develop mass transit applications for the Asia-Pacific region.
