Shanghai Industrial Holdings announced it would invest RMB 10 billion in its water supply and treatment business over the next three years. The company has signed preliminary agreements with state-owned China Energy Conservation Investment to form two JVs. China Energy is the country's only state-level public enterprise focused on the businesses of environmental protection and energy conservation.
China Water & Sewage is expected to invest US$30 million by 2006 in a 100, 000-ton waterworks, a 60,000-ton sewage treatment plant and drainage for water supply and sewage.
