The Shanghai's People's Congress left Han Zheng as Shanghai's mayor and acting Party Secretary after an annual legislative session on Saturday, the South China Morning Post reported. The session appointed two new vice-chairmen to the Congress but did not act on the mayor's post. There was speculation that the session would have made Han Zheng's party post permanent and appointed a new mayor. Han Zheng became acting party secretary last year after Chen Liangyu was removed from the post for misusing the city's pension fund.
