German engineering giant Siemens has signed US$293 million worth of new orders for its energy saving and green-technology products with Chinese firms in the past few days, the Wall Street Journal reported. The company said that revenue from its green technology products hit US$34 billion in the last fiscal year, and Chief Executive Peter Loscher expects orders of around US$73 billion over the next three years – US$2 billion of that figure is due to come from China. "Our green products and solutions have stabilized our business during the global economic recession, and we will continue to base our future growth on orders for these technologies," he said. As well as growth in China, Siemens expect strong expansion in India, Brazil and the Middle East.
