State Nuclear Power plans 2012 listing

State Nuclear Power Technology Corp (SNPTC), the company responsible for introducing and developing third-generation nuclear power technology in China, is planning a public listing in the second quarter of 2012, state media reported, citing SNPTC chairman Wang Binghua. Wang did not say where the listing would take place. He said prior to the planned share issue SNPTC will increase its registered capital to US$1.46 billion from US$600 million through an as yet undefined capital injection. Final preparation for the listing would be completed between 2011 and the first half of 2013. SNPTC is currently building four third-generation nuclear power units with France’s Areva (CEI.EPA) and US-based Westinghouse.
