The China office of consultant WS Atkins has started a one-year transport study in Shenzhen, commissioned by the Shenzhen Transport Bureau, with funding from the World Bank. The study will develop an integrated and sustainable transport strategy for developing the city’s infrastructure over the next 30 years.
Currently, Shenzhen’s transport system is dominated by roads but the study will look at all modes of transport, especially the provision of rail-based systems.
