Talks between Cathay Pacific and pilots fall through

Talks on pay between Cathay Pacific Airways (293.HKG) and its pilots’ union have failed, creating potential flight delays and cancelations during the busy Christmas and year-end period, Bloomberg reported. About 1,700 union members from Hong Kong, New Zealand and the US joined the standoff with Asia’s biggest international carrier, insisting on a work-to-rule campaign. Earlier in October, union members declined an offer from Cathay Pacific Airways of a 10% pay increase over three years.
