Tycoon sentenced to 18 years for fraud

Tycoon Yang Bin has been sentenced to 18 years in prison for fraud. Family members said that he
would appeal on the grounds that the punishment was too severe.
The charges
that Yang faced related to his property and horticultural businesses and included the
falsification of documents, fraudulent contracts, illegal land use and bribery. In particular, it
was alleged that he had taken out Yn7OOm in fraudulent loans and forged some Yn I .7bn
in phoney receipts in order to get his company listed.
