The US was considering taking legal action against China regarding a semiconductor tax rebate program that it claims discriminates against foreign suppliers, according to Deputy Assistant US Trade Representative Charles Freeman.
Freeman said that the US government was actively preparing a case to be brought against China, should the issue not be resolved in spring 2004 via bilateral talks.
