The All-China Visa Information Center reopened after having been closed down by Chinese authorities, who said that it was overcharging for telephone calls to schedule US visa application interviews. The reopened Shanghai-based call center offers the same visa application services as before, with the charge for calls to schedule US visa application interviews reduced slightly. While the center was closed, Chinese citizens were unable to schedule visa interviews by phone and had to appear at the embassy in Beijing or consulates elsewhere in person.
