Responding to a US Trade Representative Office report putting China on a 14-country watch list for unacceptably high intellectual property infringement, the Foreign Ministry's Qin Gang said China, "all along attached importance to the protection of intellectual property rights". The US warned WTO action could follow, in spite of China's efforts to curb theft.
