Wind-turbine makers to receive tax rebate

The Ministry of Finance has begun to refund value-added tax and import duties assessed on makers of core wind-power turbine parts, state media reported. The rebates, which will be backdated to January 1, are seen as a move to encourage clean energy investment. In July 2007, the Ministry of Finance revoked rebates on a number of products deemed to be highly polluting or energy-intensive.
