Xi to meet with South Korean president

South Korean President Park Geun-hye will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing today at a time when relations between North and South Korea have largely broken down, The Wall Street Journal reported. China is calling for renewed six-party talks that were intended to convince North Korea to give up its nuclear program. Both the US and South Korea have refused to resume talks until North Korea rolls back that program as previously agreed. Park is expected to ask China to join a trilateral meeting with the US regarding North Korea, an offer that China may not be willing to accept.
