By June of this year China Cargo Airlines may start flying from Shanghai to St Louis in Missouri in the US.
The theory is that rush goods from Chinese manufacturers to customers in the middle of the US will fly to St Louis as opposed to O’Hare Airport in Chicago, which is sometimes weather-bound and is always very busy.
Goods will be sorted at facilities near the Lambert-St Louis International Airport and then forwarded by air, rail or truck to their final destinations.
The Kansas City Star reports that if it works out, the China Cargo plane will be refueled and loaded with American-made goods and raw materials for the return flight to China Cargo’s base in Shanghai.
