China Coal Energy will keep coal exports unchanged this year despite a quota reduction from Beijing amid tightening domestic supply, the South China Morning Post reported. The paper quoted China coal chairman Jing Tianling as saying, "Beijing has implemented policies to control exports, not to ban exports. We plan to keep our export volume at last year’s level." China Coal received a 13.1 million ton export quota this year in the first batch recently granted by Beijing. Last year China Coal exported about 19 million tons. Overseas sales will boost the company’s bottom line as regional export prices are soaring. China Coal aims to produce more than 100 million tons of coal this year, up from 90.5 million tons.
