China DSL use jumps fivefold

China became the world's largest digital subscriber line (DSL) market in 2003, after subscribers increased fivefold to 10.95 million, according to a report by DSL Forum, a US-based industry group. Japan ranked second with 10.27 million and the US was third with 9.11 million. DSL systems have become the broadband Internet standard in China.
