Financial crimes may get more penalties

China's State Council is considering stiffer criminal penalties for financial fraud as it seeks to create up to nine new offences for financial crimes and bank fraud in the wake of a series of large-scale thefts from Chinese state banks, the Financial Times reported, citing Liu Mingkang, the chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission.
